Pancake House is a local neighborhood restaurant where the owner and staff get to know their clients and treat them with special care and attention. It is nice for the owner to come by one's table and chat for a while. I am a client of many years at Pancake House and hope it will be around for a long time to come.

Our family loves this place for breakfast. Always get seated right away any day of the week. The kids love the pancake breakfast and you can add only what you want. They have coloring books for them and they are not too expensive. All around great service too and very friendly servers. I usually get an omelette and they are great!

The waitresses are superb. I gave it a 4 rather than a 5 because the quality of our favorite menu item, which we order every time we are there, seems to be going downhill. I ordered something different this time and it was much better. My husband ordered our regular and it was not "up to par."

we got seating right away. the waitress GAIL ran by and said "I'm busy, be there soon" many other tables were waited on --while we sat. 28 min later she came over to take our order. should have walked out !!!!

Christy was very nice as she hustled around the restaurant making sure that she took care of everyone's needs. Christy has only been with The Pancake House for 6 months, and did a nice job taking care of our needs. We ordered 2 Seafood Platters which have 5 crusted Shrimp and 2 Fish Filet. The Pancake House Tarter Sauce is the best that I have ever tasted anywhere. And their cocktail sauce has that delicious horseradish kick to it also. The meal also came with a soup or salad, and your choice of potatoes and a side of vegetables. My wife had the crispy French Fries, and I had a delicious large baked potato. Every time we come to this restaurant the meals are always very tasty, and the service is first class. As I have said before in other reviews, we will be back again !

" The Philly Sandwich Was Good " My wife and I went to the Pancake House in El Cajon to have dinner and again had a nice meal. Rebekah our server was very nice as she took our orders. My wife had the fried Shrimp with a baked potato, mixed vegetables, salad. She said that everything was very good especially the crispy shrimp. I had the Philly Sandwich with was thin sliced roast beef on a hoagie roll with grilled onions, peppers, and melted cheese on it. My meal also came with crispy french fries. The Philly was very tender and tasty. For dessert we had a hot fudge sundae. Rebekah or server just won the award for the BEST made Hot Fudge Sundae. Rebekah's sundae was better than any other server has made us at The Pancake House. Thanks Rebekah ! You are so sweet !

" Their Desserts Are Awesome ! " My wife and I went again to The Pancake House Restaurant in El Cajon and had another very good dinner. Gail our server was very nice and so funny all night as she hustled around taking care of our every need. My wife ordered the Fish & Chips again which was so good. I ordered the Turkey, Bacon, and Avocado sandwich which was also very good. For dessert we had the Hot Fudge Sundae which had 2 scoops of real vanilla ice cream topped with rich hot fudge, chopped nuts and whipped topping. I was HUGE and delicious ! We will be back !

I've been going to this restaurant for many years. I like the 50's style decor and the nppth seating. The specials are great, the fried chicken is terrific, and the staff is always accommodating and friendly. Highly recommended. You can get any meal on the menu anytime of day. " The Shrimp Was Awesome " My wife and I went to the Pancake House in El Cajon again for dinner the other night, and had another great time. Tara was our server and she is so nice ! She always has a big smile on her face and makes your time in the restaurant very comfortable. My wife and I both had the Fish Platter, which was 5 large fried shrimp, with 2 pieces of fried fish with Vegetables, french fries, and your choice of soup or salad. The shrimp and fish was so good and cooked nice and crunchy, and the homemade cocktail and tarter sauce is delicious. For dessert we shared a Strawberry short cake.The portions on the plates are so big, we had dinner the next night at home. We will be back not just to have some great food but to see Tara again.

My wife and I went to The Pancake House in Bostonia to enjoy a very tasty and huge dinner. Brie our server was so pleasant and funny as she hustled around the restaurant handling everyone needs. Brie is an AWESOME Server ! My wife had the Fish and Chips which was very crispy Cod fish with crispy fries. I had The "Club" which was sliced turkey breast, crisp bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. Both meals were huge and very good. We took half of the meal home for the next day. For dessert we had the Strawberry Shortcake which was HUGE ! Good meal and a very reasonable price. Check it out !

" We Tried Something New & It Was Good " We went to The Pancake house tonight for Dinner. Our server Tara was very nice with a great friendly attitude, as she answered all of our questions about the meals on the menu, and did a great job getting our food out to us with great speed. My wife had the Chili Cheeseburger at $7.69 topped with great tasting chili and beans and cheddar cheese, with lettuce, tomato,onions, and French Fries. I had the 7 oz. Salisbury Steak which was $8.29, and was formed with onions and bell peppers and topped with brown gravy and mushrooms. The Steak was very tender and tasty, and the brown gravy with mushrooms matched the steak perfectly. I also had a delicious Baked Potato with the works on it, Cole Slaw and a bowl of New England Clam Chowder. Both of our meals were very good, except my Cole Slaw was a little dry and tasteless. My wife's Chili burger was very Big and very good also. For dessert we had the Hot Fudge Sundae $4.69 with 2 scoops of real vanilla ice cream topped with rich hot fudge, chopped pecan nuts, and whipped cream topping. It was Yummmmmmy ! All in All, we had a good dinner and enjoyed our self's.

Too many items on the menu which caused the quality of the food to be poor. For example, I ordered a Belgian Waffle and the fruit topping was frozen. Our food wasn't brought out together. The orange juice tasted like medicine or something and she said it comes out of a machine and she would check the date on the box that's poured in there. Customer service wasn't attentive. No refills on the drinks.

We really enjoyed our first time at this restaurant. The food was plentiful and delicious. The menu was extensive, they are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner too. I found the homemade banana syrup delicious on my pancakes. The home fries are cut different than most places serve them.

We almost always do breakfast at Pancake House and always order the same thing: Country Scramble. IT is very good and quite often we take enough home for another breakfast.

Best Pancakes EVER!!! Grandma's Recipe! This is by far my new favorite restaurant. Amazing Customer Service!! A greeting and help from the entire staff, even a personal visit from the Owner. Love this place. Going back this weekend.

When we got to the restaurant this morning, this were quite busy with several parties arriving at the same time, so it took us a little longer than usual to even get our drinks. But the people are so friendly and accommodating that I didn't mind the wait.

Waitress was efficient but rude, knelt in next booth and opened blinds in such a way that they hit my daughter in the head and she never even apologized. The food was cool to cold (gravy was cold). She never checked back to see if we needed anything.

WE really love the service and the environment. HOWEVER; the drinking water is full of clorine. Obvious that the filters have not been changed in years. We mention this each time we visit, and we are told that the water is filtered. It is undrinkable and it makes the ice tea taste terrible. It will not stop us from coming back, but it is disappointing.

Not much atmosphere, and nothing really special about the food - we got what we ordered, but it wasn't any better than what I could cook at home, and the portion was about what you'd expect for the price, maybe a little small. The food has been good in the past. This time my food was very bland. The waitress didn't check back if we wanted refills on iced tea. It was a late lunch & it wasn't busy. Only few people in restaurant. The salads for 2 of our guest were beautiful & very generous with the shrimp.
