Great food and servuce
It was a tiny cute restaurant right off the electric line metra in Hyde Park. Very easy to get to. The service was impeccable and the food was to die for. I really loved it.
Explore the menu--everything is wonderful--fresh and full of flavor. My problem is being addicted to my favorites, but today I tried a new to me pasta with several vegetables in a light cream sauce that was fabulous! My daughters ordered very different items and everyone loved their food.
The food is excellent (clams with linguine in a white wine sauce is outstanding and unbelievably reasonable), the staff is warm and welcoming, and the restaurant is beautiful with 2-story windows overlooking Jackson Park. Dining at Piccolo Mondo is a genuine treat!

Someone swiped my card and forgot the code stating they don’t know how to void it and can’t touch w manager after a couple minutes he did it but it still took both off He didn’t have to lie
My family and I very much looked forward to eating here after visiting the Museum of Science and Industry across the street. My daughter and I both had the Spaghetti Al Frutti Di Mare, my son the Fettuccine Apulliana and my husband a Veal dish. My daughter and I enjoyed our meal as it featured seafood we rarely eat. My son said his was good, but not very exciting. My husband said his was fine. We drank water and my husband and daughter each had a glass of wine. The waiters were attentive enough, but not at all friendly. I had the $50 off $100 certificate. Their menu prices have increased considerably from what is shown on-line, and our bill before the discount was over $130. After applying the discount certificate and adding a tip, I paid slightly over $100. So it was a problem with expectations. I thought we would have gotten more for our money. The food was good, not excellent, and I'm afraid I found the experience, even with a $50 discount, not a good value.

Pasta dishes fantastic, cold and hot TAPAS are favorites. In the lobby is a coffee shop with incredible desserts, some of which can be ordered in the restaurant.

The staff is always friendly and the food is fresh and always served nice and hot!

Restaurant was half full and had available tables in better location; we, party of 4, were put at a table behind a wall in the very back of the restaurant. I ordered a lamb chop and was given frenched lamb ribs that were over cooked, tough and amounted to 2 bites. VERY. Disappointed! Waiter did not check in on us after ordering.
The ambiance is very welcoming and it was quiet although the restaurant was pretty full. Everyone there seemed to be happy and enjoying themselves.

They went out of their way to accommodate us. We did not realize how busy they would be as students, with their families, started school at Univ of Chicago. Perhaps recognizing us as regulars, they set up small table in a secluded corner, and then provided excellent service (and the excellent food we have come to expect). Our out-of-town guest was impressed.
The waiters are professional, courteous and friendly. The atmosphere is relaxing. The food is outstanding; I've never had a disappointing meal here.

Nice neighborhood restaurant in Hyde Park. Have dined here a few times over the years, both lunch and dinner. They have a very nice Italian menu with plenty of selections. Food and ambience has always been wonderful. Service always great. Would highly recommend dining here.

This is my second time dining at this restaurant. The first time, the food was awesome, so much that we decided to return. However, I'd have to say that, although the food was good this time, it was not as good as the first time.

This is a very comfortable place with good, reliable food. It's the ideal place to go and talk with friends or a group in Hyde Park. The service is casual but precise. My waiter let me try a sip of a wine that he liked, for example, and was fine when I said I'd prefer something else.
The "Pollo Vesuvio" was great, but our grilled calamari tasted a bit burnt, and the rest of our food was just ok. The atmosphere is nice. We went there early when the restaurant was empty, and the waiter didn't notice at first, but after he did, he was nice and attentive. They have an Argentine bakery by the restaurant, but you can't order items from the bakery in the restaurant except for a few desserts.

We were not used to the names of the food my kids end up ordering food that they don't like.
The waitstaff were very polished, cordial but not chummy. Food was well prepared and presented. They are careful about portions, so there is enough, but not over much.

It is a great place to enjoy delicious food AND be able to visit comfortably with others at the table....to hear each other without having to shout or share time with the tables around you!
Food was good. Few beverage options if you do not drink wine; more options without alcohol are needed. I was disappointed there wasn't ginger ale or sparking water/club soda to mix with cranberry juice.
