I ordered Chicken Chesapeake and it is supposed to have lump crab meat but it did not. It had shrimp and no crab. We should have been offered something else if there was no crab meat. Same with the crab pretzel. Spinach...no crab.

The customer service was excellent. Being our first time, we were greeted as soon as we arrived; our server, Corey was pleasant and very helpful with the menu - offering his suggestions. Corey was a great host, on top of making sure our drinks were full and our food was to order. Before leaving the manager greeted us, sharing his story connected to the restaurant; he also gave us complimentary pumpkin muffins to take home. Very kind of them.

The vegetables and prime rib Where cold. In all fairness the manager did everything you could to make the food warm and he also gave this a complimentary Box and muffins.
Crab cake was not good. Asked for cup of soup, got bowl of soup; asked for 2 different desserts, one they don’t carry anymore, and one was not ready. Iced tea was very good. Fresh and clear.

Would like the server to be more familiar meaning engaging. Very efficient and polite but more about selling then getting to know us as we dine there semi frequently.

Good because it is quite noisy but we were told we were at peak time and it was packed, the food was excellent, some of the best I've ever had, our server Robert D. was friendly, and very attentive.

Food at Gary's is always delicious and a family favorite is the Gary's Salad, mixed greens with fruits, roquefort cheese and yummy dressing. We love to share our meal and the waitress obliged by cutting and arranging for us.

Excellent service. The biggest frustration was the difficulty accessing the certificate online. Our server was very accommodating in spite of the issues.
Some people don't care for sherry in their cream of crab soup. Please consider offering the choice. Also, restaurant.com makes it possible for me to come to Garry's more often, but I started visiting about 25 years ago.
Great food, great service. Very enjoyable experience. Calamari was tender, Salmon was cooked perfectly herb crusted in a mustard sauce, dessert is hard to choose, so many delicious choices, vanilla bean cheesecake very taste. Prices are reasonable.

Excited bc of the rave reviews. Invited a couple of family members that lives in the area for Brunch on a Sun at 11. We drove over an hour (we live on the E Shore). the 7 of us got there & the wait was 45 minutes to get a Table (they do NOT take reservations). We asked to sit together so the wait was much longer then usual. We were told they would put 2 Tables together for us. Instead they put us in 2 separate Booths (so they lied). Sat directly across from the Cooks/Kitchen. What I witnessed was GROSS. The Kitchen area & the Floors are really NASTY. I won't go into detail but my Eggs spoke to what I witnessed in the Kitchen (21 & 26 yo son & daughter said the same since they were sitting directly across from the cook area as well). One positive, the Waitress was very nice & efficient. Food, wait time & being lied too were TERRIBLE. Can't believe we drove that far & then I was served overcooked dried up Eggs w/ up old smoked Salmon (bad Strawberries at the bottom of my fruit Cup too). Used a ton of hot sauce to try to reconstitute the dried up Eggs/Salmon. If Garry's smokes their oen Salmon they need to fire the people who do it bc it's really awful. None one in our party will return. Wasted money & left completely disappointed. Glad to spend time w/ family. Well sort of since they put us in 2 different Booths. Can't get over the wonderful reviews.
The food is exceptional. I honestly have no words to describe how delicious it was. The customer service is beyond anything I’ve ever experienced. It’s a warm, friendly, inclusive environment. Our server Tasha was amazing, fantastic, pleasant, sweet, engaging. I literally can’t recall the last time I received such wonderful service.

Destiny was our server and was one of the best ever! Also, we come to Garry's at least 6 times per year. NOTE: It was specified that the steak be cooked so there "was no pink" but it was served medium :( Destiny took care of getting it re-cooked for us but my sister almost couldn't eat it because of the first cooking. My salmon was excellent. Destiny was also very patient with us (sister was visiting from out of town and had never been to Garrys).

everytime, we go, the food is fabulous, service excellent, experience great. we drive 50 /60 miles just to eat here sometimes for special occasions, sometimes just to treat ourselves. today was to treat ourselves and they did not disappoint.

Greek Caesar salad was excellent and huge! My husband had the shrimp and crab quesadillas and was also pleased.
The restaurant is nice and cozy. We enjoyed everything. They make everything fresh which is nice. Make sure you leave room for dessert! The manager came to the table to make sure everything was good. They really impressed us with the attention to new customers. We look forward to going back soon!

they weren't able to accommodate my request for grilling one of my items and also requested for no old bay, The chef was not able to grill an item. He said it had to be fried. I didn't feel that the chef was able to accommodate what I thought were simple requests. our waitress was very good, though. very expensive for the meal.

This place is amazing! It isn't much to look at but those hole in the wall places are always the best. The food was great and so was the service. Super friendly, recommended some good things to try out, didn't bother us too much during the meal but was always there when we needed her! Plus the food came out super quick. We will totally be back.

Service was excellent. I got the special, a grilled cheese sandwich cooked panini style, which would have been delicious except that the grilled onions in sauce they added made the bread soggy. Not a good thing. I had to scrape them all off. The coconut cake dessert was so-so as well. It had a weird after taste.

This is a comfortable place to eat and visit. The menu has healthy-ish offerings. (It has a west coast vibe.) The service is always friendly. And it's a comfortable place to visit; lots of booths. I always look forward to eating at Garry's.

Overall, we love Garrys. The only problem was my mom’s shrimp nachos. They were very dry, I think the salsa or whatever it is called was forgotten. Also, the cheese was congealed.
Service was spotty. We noticed that our server was setting up and prepping for dinner hours and ignoring us. We had to get up to find more coffee, find someone to get us condiments,the coffee was lukewarm, then we waited again while it was warmed up. The dinners, while served at the same time, ranged from cool to hot. However, the food was tasty if you overlooked it being cold, and luckily we enjoyed each others' company so the waiting was tolerable. We can see why it is popular and we talked about returning as the menu looks delightful.Seemed under staffed.They need to work on service.

Overall service was good by all staff but server, who tried his best to ignore us once he brought out the food. Not sure why, because he kept stopping at the table next to us and chatting up an older couple. I had to ask another server walking by if I could have cocktail sauce for my crabcake instead of the tartar sauce that came with it, because i could not find the server. The other server gladly provided it, no questions asked, even though she was not our server. Maybe I should ask for her next time. Sorry, don't recall names but will remember faces next time.

A great neighborhood restaurant. Unique and delicious salads, Gary's salad, Mexican, and trio are our favorites. They have an in-house pastry chef who creates desserts that outshine all other restaurants. The peanut butter pie with chocolate crust and chocolate ganache topping with homemade whip cream is my favorite.
We were seated across from the kitchen which made it a very noisy and awfully warm experience given the heat from the cooking that was being done. Really need to look at the ventilation/cooling system in that area of the restaurant.

Generally like the food at Garry's Grill and most of the time go for breakfast and not dinner. Although the dinner I got, the special, siracha chicken pasta was good, I was surprised that it only came with a very tiny piece of garlic bread and that my friend with me wasn't given any bread with her steak dinner until she asked... and unfortunately she asked for her steak to be well done and it was cooked more medium/pinker... However, we did enjoy the service and ambiance.

Garry's Grille uses good ingredients, that's apparent. The menu has all of the flavors and pairings I love:the Greek and Mediterranean as well as local seafood, and wonderful fresh salads. They even have their own bakery chef! And the staff is always friendly.

Actually 2nd time here,some of the best food we've ever had at a restaurant (or anywhere else for that matter). Anything with the crab fondue in it is too dye for: try the flatbread or seafood nachos.

The food took 50 minutes but there was hardly anyone else there. The food was poor...some was burnt and some was fishy.
The bread served with the entrees was a bit hard. Perhaps that is exactly what it is supposed to be like but I prefer a softer bread/rolls. Our meals were delicious.

Our server did not offer info about the Fall Sangria special which I noticed on the sandwich board sign as we left the restaurant. The server also had to be asked as to the soup of the day, chef's veggies, etc. I think that info should be offered when one is seated.

I loved the food and preparations. Salmon was not fishy.
I first asked for a wrap (sorry I don't remember which one). The waiter told me they ran out of the large tortillas and would have to use smaller ones. I then asked for the cobb wrap, which was the special of the day. I was told the same thing, they ran out of the large wraps. My granddaughter and I then ordered the shrimp and crab quesadillas. We received two small tortillas cut in half. I would say there was about two tablespoons of filling in each tortillas, if that. We didn't say anything at the time, but after I thought about it, we should have sent it back. It really was unacceptable. We have eaten at Garry's quite a few times and this was not up to their usual standards. Also, the mac and cheese on the childrens' menu was totally dried out. My grandson wouldn't eat it. We ended up taking home a piece of chocolate silk pie and a piece of red velvet cake. I couldn't believe how small the pieces were when we took them out of the boxes at home. I don't know if they changed their bakery, but these were not up to their usual standards and at $6 each, too expensive. I have always liked Garry's, but after this experience, I don't know if I would go back. My husband did say his Reuben was good. My son had the apple and brie panini and said it was okay.

The staff just seemed very worked up and frazzled, rather than friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was not very busy so we were disappointed to have items haphazardly dropped in front of us and not placed in the bags (we ordered carry-out). The sauce for my wrap was not included in the order, and the sweet potato fries were over a bed of jalapenos - jalapenos are not an ingredient that a majority of people enjoy or can tolerate. It wasn't on the menu that they would be in with the fries, and so I wasn't able to eat very many as most had been touching the peppers.

I had a wonderful salad that came with a delicious pumpkin spice muffin and my guest had a bacon cheese burger with a side salad that was cooked and served as asked with no bun. The waitress was very pleasant and filled our glasses but was never in our way. It was my first time at Garry's Grill but it won't be my last actually it will be my go to for an enjoyable meal. I'll try dinner the next time.

We have been to Garry's Grill many times and the food and service have always been very good. On this visit the entree that I ordered (Sesame Tuna) was way overcooked. I ordered medium rare and it was cooked medium well.

Gary's is small and the environment is a bit run down. The table was a bit sticky when we sat down also. I didn't notice it until I changed seats during the meal.All the meals were great, except the portabello mushroom sandwich was okay. It wasn't like a remembered it.

I know this is a popular restaurant and I absolutely love the beef chilli (which came out barely warm) but the atmosphere leaves ALOT to be desired! It won't stop me from returning though. Despite this, I can't get the condition of the kitchen floor out of my mind. The black mat was covered with debris from previously prepared food and the chefs were walking through it as they prepared food. Just one little thing can matter. This was clearly visible from our booth.

Had a wonderful time visiting with an old friend for the holiday season. Issues with the food brought down the rating. I say it like it is... The good and the bad. The nachos were a basket of (broken )chips...i did ask for some larger chips which i did get. The nacho dip was like soup. I asked the server for a spoon and she noticed there was a real problem and that was not the normal consistency. Did not get new food because the rest of the order was at the table already. I suggested a free dessert. BUT...the pumpkin cheesecake was so dry and or old it was like glue in my mouth. Did not eat that. I was not charged for the nachos or the dessert. Normally the food at this restaurant is a 5 which is why I chose it for our holiday celebration. We did have a great time... The seafood quesadillas were tasty. They were hard to cut/chewy. Really, this was not typical. Never had a bad meal before.
From the outside, you would never know what is inside is totally worth trying out. Even the very dated furniture is deceptive-it looks like it has been neglected for a long time-old, worn wooden furnishings circa the 60s/70s...but the food is excellent and the menu is creative. From the outside, you might expect meatloaf and turkey dinners-but the reality is awesome seafood dishes such as fish tacos, coconut shrimp and panko crusted crusted tilapia to steak and chesapeake crab soup and crab puffs, pulled pork, chili with steak in it and a great variety of salads to which you can add a protein of your choice-salmon, steak, chicken, etc. We would never have tried Garry's if not for the Restaurant.com deal and it has quickly jumped to the top of our list of favorite local restaurants. We would give it a % for food definitely. The 4 is because of aesthetics. Not anything that really matters.
It was very busy since it was a Sunday morning, but they handled it well. Everything was great! The food... SUPER! The atmosphere... Homestyle (My fav!) The waitstaff... WONDERFUL! I will definitely return in the future, with or without a gift certificate.

Our waitress paid continual attention to us and ensured we received what we needed. We found the crab cakes disappointing because they had too much bread and insufficient flavoring such as perhaps just a hint of Old Bay. Preparing them in butter, would enhance their flavor. The menu looked appealing when we saw it through Restaurant.com. When we went to the actual location, we were surprised by how dated it appeared and were apprehensive about what our dining experience would be. Turned out the food was excellent.
I was dissapointed in the special I ordered. Advertised as thick sliced roasted turkey, I was presented with thinly sliced deli turkey. Also, the open faced sandwich was really in total about 1/2 sandwich.

There was a comment made by 1 of the diners that there seemed to be less meat on the wrap.

Whoever said don't order fish on a Mon was wrong when it comes to the Chesapeake Bay.The rockfish tasted like it was caught that day and our server was especially attending. Great Place. ps my husband said he was jealous because he loves the restaraunt too.
Our server was very good and attentive, refilling our drinks regularly and very friendly, however, we were a bit disappointed with our meal this time. We ordered nachos, and the cheese sauce was the consistency of soup and we were only given a handful of chips. In addition, I was disappointed in the lack of flavor in the chicken caprese sandwich and the fact that it had shredded cheese on it. When I think of caprese, I think of a nice chunk of fresh mozzarella cheese paired with a tasty balsamic sauce. I couldn't taste the balsamic on my sandwich and as I said, the sauce wasn't flavorful at all. My husband however, did enjoy his buffalo chicken salad. It just seemed like, even with our discount, it was a lot of money to spend on lunch that wasn't what we usually expect at Garry's. Maybe just an off day and I'll know to order something else next time.

They do a very good breakfast, so we expected similar quality at dinner. The highlight was scratch-made bbq chicken stuffed jalapenos. But nachos...canned cheese, really??... and boursin-bacon burger...frozen patty and ho-hum bun...were really short of the mark. I haven't been this disappointed in a dining experience in quite some time, probably because our expectations were based on our breakfast experiences. We will not return for lunch or dinner, though we will still go for breakfast.

ThE food here has been excellent up till now. Our dinners were good except for the very dry unseasoned broccoli that was served as the vegetable. They should have tasted some of it themselves.

The food was outstanding. I had MD Crab Soup and it had just the right amount of spice and a healthy portion of crab. This was followed by a broiled crab cake sandwich. Put a little tarter sauce on but next time will eat it without anything because it doesn't need anything. The waitress was there when we needed her and not overbearing. Perfection!!!

We've eaten at Gary's many times for ~10 yrs but today's visit was a real disappointment and I'm thinking of writing to the owner/mgr. Service was slow, our food wasn't hot by the time it got to the table, requests for refills of drinks and for utensils were forgotten, a server dropped a beverage from her tray while walking by our booth and no one offered my husband some napkins to dry himself off (although the server did apologize for the accident), and finally, the syrup container at our table was broken and sent a flood of syrup onto one of our plates. When we brought it to our server's attention she chuckled and said she was sorry - but didn't suggest that she was going to make sure that it wasn't passed along to another table. Overall, a really bad experience. We also overheard the people in the next booth commenting on how dirty the carpet was - and that didn't help matters.
I wish your restaurant was closer to where we live.
Garry's is our favorite local place to eat. The food is always delicious and reasonably priced.
After biking for 23 miles along the B&A trail we were rsvenous and Garys Grill was nearby. Although this gem is located in a shopping mall we were pleassantly suprised. Had to wait-GOOD SIGN, I THINK-sat on bench outside and chatted. Were taken to our commmfortable booths. NIce ambience-great food-clean. The only problem I encountered is that I was rushed to choose-having not read the entire menu. The server spoke so rapidly we could bearly understand the choices. We had to ask her to repeat. I can't wait though to return-great food!

The only thing that wasn't perfect was that there wasn't really room to comfortably seat a party of 5. However, the restaurant staff was very accommodating at adding a chair to our table. We will definitely visit again; but probably not with a party of more than 4.
Although we usually just have breakfast or lunch there, I came to dinner just for the parm encrusted pork chops (they sounded good if "cooked to perfection")but they were way overdone (my meal arrived at least 5 or more minutes after the other dinner came to our table), it had little encrusted parm and the asparagus was overcooked which for Garry's was very disappointing. The other two meals (shrimp in a salad and rockfish) got rave reviews... Also the waiter said they didn't have a particular dessert yet as we walked by the dessert case the strawberry coconut was in the case. Also I didn't appreciate another waitress (next to us) sweeping the carpet with a broom while I still had my meal in front of me - can't imagine the dust that was flying... We love Garrys and will be back, maybe just not so close to closing time, although there were still people eating when we left..

We have gone to Gary's Grill for years then having moved away we look forward to visiting the area from time to time. Today, the food wasn't the normal Gary's quality. Tea was like colored water and tasteless,fish too done and taco's without taste. We will go back this is not normal for Gary's. The Gary's salad great!

I have been to Garry's a lot in the past. This night was the owrst I ever had their. We had to send the Cra Fondue back, it was unedible. The rest of the food this night was tolerable at best. ti will not stop me from going back, I am just hoping it was 1 bad night.
Booths are uncomfortably small, with very little room between the bench and table.
My pork chop lacked flavor and the vegtable was bland. Our bill wasn't itemized and had we not asked the server would have let us pay gratuity twice. It was a bit shady.

I've never been disappointed at this restaurant.
I think the food at this establishment is top-knotch. I don't eat here as often as I would like because it seems dirty, the wait staff is not always very friendly, and I prefer not to watch people cooking my food. Simple things like asking the servers not to handle the silverware by the part you put in your mouth - the server who handed us out silverware didn't use the handle, she grabbed it where our mouth goes, and just overall cleanliness. I know others who feel the same way and I know you would do an extra-booming business if these things were improved upon, because the food is GREAT!

I was charged both a 18% gratuity and a service charge which I don't think is right. I'm used to the addition of 18%, but the service charge is "new."

We would have liked to know why we were charge $4.50 for Orange juice when the Menu says juices are $3.50. Also the waitress charged us 20% gratuity instead of the coupon amount of 18%. We think the wait staff needs to be briefed about up-charges and following the coupon rules. We didn't complain at the time because the restaurant was getting busy.

My sandwich was made incorrectly (requested no tomato). I sent it back because it had melted cheese on it and I hadn't wanted the cheese to come off with the tomato. The kitchen simply pulled off the tomato and sent the same sandwich back to me. I could've done that myself. Other than that, the meal was very good.
Dissapointed in the meager yet expensive kids meal of buttered noodles for $5. Extra for any side. How about including a small dish of broccolli?
Gary's Grill accommodated 9 14-yr-olds and 2 adults for my daughter's birthday. The food was delicious and the service, on a busy Sunday, was outstanding.

Server was excellent. Burgers were overcooked the first time but were replaced without us even asking. Now, that's great service! Also got a free dessert to make up for our wait. Second burger was delicious. Great food reasonably price and a wonderful staff are a recipe for success!

wealways love going to Garry's but have begun to notice that when we bring in rest.com coupons our service goes way down since the server automatically expects the 18% tip. this is beginning to sadden us as we have always tipped well without a coupon. we were in a hurry and didnt have a chance to say anything but plan to call.
