Sat at the bar, the service was great. Very friendly atmosphere.
Both meals were excellent. Our server was very attentive and the complimentary Lemonchello and cookie were a perfect touch.
Excellent service all around. Sat at bar for one cocktail while waiting for other member of my party. Amy was very engaging at the bar. Waiter- forget his name- also fantastic - very knowledgeable about all dishes. He said he hopes to run his own restaurant in future.
The lady at the door was exceptional. I didn't get her name, but she was great. We had to wait at the bar but she did not forget us. Our server Nick was very attentive to our table.
It was a delicious meal and to top it off after dessert we had a small glass of strawberry champagne served to us with a rose for each woman there was in the party which was a wonderful finishing touch to a wonderful evening

We have been here many times. This s the first time dissatisfied. Food was fine service lacking. Empty water glasses even after asked for more. Waiter never checked in with us. I did not get my bagged item of ufinnished food. Very disappointed. Not the level of service that I am used to from this restaurant.

We were very turned off by the drink service and quality. There was an honest mistake made with my drink which is totally understandable. The new drink served was not remade, it seemed that some was poured out and some more ingredients added back in. It still tasted completely off. Also, the remade drink was not a full drink. Not getting anywhere with that drink, I ordered a different one which was again filled low.

Elizabeth's is truly a great dining experience. Period!!! We dine here every 4 to 6 weeks and we are NEVER disappointed.
Asked to have them make a special meal Shrimp marinara. It was fresh, the shrimp were jumbo shrimp with lots of mozzarella! Excellent!

We went to Elizabeth's of Portofino to celebrate our 61st Anniversary and it was a memorable dinner. Told the gentleman showing us in that we were celebrating our 61st Anniversary. We had Calamari as an appetizer, baked stuffed sole with rice and green beans. It was so good! We ordered coffee and we were given a slice of dessert (Tiramisu I think) which was awesome. Then they the waitress brought over a glass of Lemoncello to cap off our dinner. The dessert and Lemoncello were compliments of the owner, who was the gentleman who had greeted us!! The waitress was so friendly and professional. Having the discount from Restaurant.com was a real plus even though the pricing was reasonable. We were so pleased with everything and plan to go back again, before our next Anniversary. My thanks to the owner for making it special for us.

Scallops and risotto was perfect! Bread and salad were delicious. Consistently a great restaurant.
Beginning with the appetizer our the temperature of our meals was overall cold. Our arancinis were cold and the rice on the inside was hard and out entrees were luke warm, wishing they came out super hot.

We were very happy with the excellent service by Justin at Elizabeth's Portofino. He was very attentive. The food was great and the atmosphere inviting. The complimentary Lemoncello at the end of the meal was a wonderful touch. Will definitely return again.
Four of us went Saturday night, it was so good. Each one of us had something different and we all agreed it was wonderful! We were made to feel welcomed. Great Place!

We always plan to dine at Elizabeth's Portofino before flying out of Providence. Food and service always top notch. My husbands filet was overcooked and they remade his entree cheerfully and apologetically and sent us out with a complimentary dessert. Can't wait to come again!

Everything was great! We loved the whole roasted garlic and fresh greatest cheese they give you with the bread and oil. Also the complimentary limoncello is always delightful! We had the baked stuffed shrimp and stuffed sole. Both were perfectly cooked and very flavorful. Justin was also great. I don't think 5-10 minutes went by without him checking to make sure we were all set.

Delicious bread, loved the classic clams casino. My husband’s veal parm looked crispy crusted and tender on the inside. I had delicious Pinot Grigio and Pacchieri special with rabe and white beans. The service was especially great at the bar.
Service was great and timely. The food was excellent and not overly priced. I had the veal Parmesan and my husband had the Tuscan Sausage and we both went home with leftovers. I also had a delicious glass of red sangria. Restaurant was clean comfortable seating. Definitely will be back.

Service by Justin was terrific and the food was delicious as usual. We are always happy with everything when we dine here.
The service was excellent! :) Just wished they have (more) options for vegans and/or people who have diet restrictions. There was only the one meatless pasta dish that was supposedly without egg/dairy (suspect because something in that dish, delicious regardless, did not "agree" with my stomach afterwards, eloquently put...) and the remaining choices were a garden salad and two small side dishes of sautéed vegetable (they were OK). I would go again if they expand their menu options.

It started out that we had 3 out of 6 dirty plates put on our table. the waiter apologized profusely and said it was because they had a new dishwasher. one person in our party got the special chicken with the Italian ham and the cheese with mushrooms on top the chicken was very gray and dry. Another person got the stuff sole which came out warm not hot. I got the baked stuffed shrimp and it was had flakes of shells in it.

While the food was very good, one of the waitresses tried to take our main meal away while we were still eating and the food was still warm. I guess she saw us taking a break from eating for a minute. There were plenty of open seats but all tables right next to each other were used (too close). It also got so loud in there we couldn't hear each other talk.

The garlic on table is great touch. The lemoncello at the end of meal was very nice. Very pleasant service and staff. The would have loved to use 2 certificates seeing we spend well over $200 bucks but it was still a pleasant experience.

First time eating here. The service was super friendly and the food extremely good and large portions--ended up over-ordering because we were unaware the portions would be so large (because the prices were very good so I expected smaller dishes) that we ended up with food to take home. But that was just an added bonus and we had it for lunch the next day :)

The menu is comprehensive, always have ordered something different the three times we've been and have yet to be dissappointed. The foot is cooked perfectly and portions are large.

The food was excellent. Service was attentive Without hovering. There was a rather loud patron sitting by us and the waiter recognized this and they offered to buy us drinks which was unexpected but totally appreciated.
A full bowl of that delicious soup would have made a better first impression. Chicken Marsala was, as usual, very good, fairly priced and generous. Pasta side not so much for the RI diner, tho. Efficient but humorless waitress and tight parking.

The dinner was a special and quite pricey. The quality was poor. I called the next day because we are regular customers and spoke to the owner. I did not want to complain at dinner because it was very busy. The owner told me I shoukd have complained while having dinner and never really apologized or tried to do anything to want us to come back.
Elizabeth’s was excellent - not in my usual path of travel but very worth the trip!! Will definitely be back sooner rather than later.

Had to wait a while to be seated. There was a large party in the back room. so we were seated in the front room where the bar is. I don't like sitting in the bar area, TV and loud patrons seated at the bar .The tables are rather close together and there was a group behind us who were very loud. (even louder than the large party in the back room) It was difficult to have a conversation. Once they left the atmosphere improved. They offer beautiful bread served with seasoned olive oil and a surprise treat of a head of roasted garlic kept warm by a burner. Ordered the Margarita pizza which was mistakenly served with parsley rather than basil. We told our server who apologized, offered to redo the pizza and sent the owner over who also offered her apology as well as comping the pizza. Obviously Elizabeth cares deeply about the quality of her food. The complimentary shot of limoncello was an unexpected treat and quite refreshing .
had to wait awhile to be seated. A charming waitress kept coming over to tell us that Elizabeth would be there shortly. sat in alcove in front section. There were several large parties who were quite loud so it was a bit distracting. Table settings were lovely. Our waitress, Diana was great. It was her first day on the job and she was and excellent server. Bread , olive oil and roasted garlic were a wonderful surprise. Once the large party left it was much better to hear each other speak. I wish there was a bit more room between the tables.

Our overall experience was great. We were seated promptly and Sean, our waiter, was fantastic. Our meals were good and the little extras like the biscotti with coffee and the shot of limoncello at the end of the meal were wonderful.

So, here's the thing, the mozzarella rounds were absolutely delicious, and the first piece of my chicken parm was divine as well, but then I got to my second piece and it was literally like rubber. So much so that it made me gag mid-chew (really sensitive to strange food textures. It was clearly a VERY old piece of chicken thrown in with my other fresh one. I am not one to send food back, but I sincerely wanted to as I spent a hefty price on this meal and didn't get to eat a large chunk of it. So if both were fresh, this would have gotten a great rating.
I never had a bad meal or experience here. The atmosphere makes me feel like I am eating in a resturant in Italy

We sat on the deck on a warm evening and shared a calamari appetizer (gluten free) that was tasty and tender. I had the veal parm with penne and my wife had veal saltimboca which were scrumptious and satisfying. We finished off with chocolate lava cake. It is still the best I've had in a restaurant. We would highly recommend this restaurant for the food and also for the friendly and attentive service.

It was a very busy night when I ate there. I sat at the bar and the bartender was very busy especially for a Friday night. So she wasn't as attentive. The 2 couples sitting next to me were offered bread. I wasn't until I had to ask for it. My glass of water wasn't even refilled until after I finished eating.

We have been eating here for years and really enjoy the food but the service has been going down over the past couple of years which is very disappointing. Our table is not attended to infrequent water refills and check-ins and the food takes a very long time 2 arrive.
Our party of 7 was celebrating 2 birthdays and 1 anniversary. When I arrived I provided the info to our server and at the end of the meal each person was presented with a piece of cake on a plate with their names and the celebration. Waite staff was wonderful as was the food.

Quiet intimate setting with excellent professional servers. Clams casino appetizer consisted of six tiny, but tasty hard shell clams with a chourico stuffing. Main entree of pescadore had an intriguing description, but was presented with just one shrimp and very small amounts of calamari and tiny scallops. Definitely not worth the price of $26. Lasagna, on the other hand, was a very good size portion, well prepared and a great value for the $15 price. Complimentary limoncello shots after dinner was a surprising and welcome touch.

Pleasant dining room. Hosting and wait staff friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Menu selections were explained well. The food quality was fine. Two of our group had the stuffed sole. Seafood stuffing was plentiful and quite tasty. The other main course was salmon tips on risotto. Also excellent. Green beans served were very good...not soft...slightly firm...just right. We did not desire dessert but the offerings looked quite interesting! This is a nice local restaurant and well worth a visit if you nave not been before... and also worth a return!

Manager NEVER came around to check on anyone and after the steak was presented 3 times, was never taken off the bill!!

The host was un-friendly.. Not a smile to be had. The waitress was very nice.. Polite and attentive. The food was so so. We ordered both appetizers and entrees. The clams casino was on the mushy side, the calamari seems to be the frozen quality, the veal Marsala was chewy and the chicken pacatta was taste more like heavy egg and very heavy lemon.. The flavors were severe especially in the lemon... And I adore lemon. We will go back one more time in the future and give their Italian dishes a try... But if that flops also then we won't be going back.
Our server sat night was spot on. Very attentive. The calamari was one of the best we have had. Our entree was excellent also. I have recommended this restaurant to my friends. We will be back soon.

What a great place! Love dining outside so we sat on the outside back patio. We were served complimentary roasted garlic, fresh bread and olive oil. Our dinners were wonderful, both cooked to perfection, and the service was A+. Our waiter David was the perfect combination of conscientious service, attentive, good humor and most pleasant. Inside atmosphere is sophisticated and comfortable decor. When we were leaving there was a female vocalist for the inside diners. At the end of diner we were given complimentary Lemoncello. First time there, would go back again, and recommend it highly. It was all good.

Checked out web site, place looked nice and vintage Italian .seating didn't look over crowed with nice ambiance. made reservations based on what we saw and read. when we arrived we were escorted through a hallway that served as a waitress and serving station to another building. it turned out to be a dessert BAR. not what we were expecting. the seats were very uncomfortable and at least 6 to 10 inches to low to the table. my wife who is 5'4" could not bring her drink to her lips direct from the table as it was over her forehead. she had to bring the glass off the table to the side and then bring back in between table and herself to drink, and then reverse to put it back onto table. the food was good, a little on the cold side and not quite timely at all. the best part of the evening was our waitress. even though she was spread quite thin,only one serving this room. she was very professional, well versed in the food she was serving, quite pleased with her genuine interest in making our visit a pleasant one. Not saying I wouldn't try again, but definitely would be quite insistant that i would be eating in the dinning room I was led to believe I would be. NOT a Deseret bar. (server Heather)

I love this restaurant, have been going there for several years. It is small and intimate. The service is excellent. The food is always good. I love all the little added touches, like the biscotti with coffee, the pizella's and lemoncello brought with your check. I highly recommend this little gem for a special occasion or if you just want to treat yourself. Can't wait to go back.

This was our first time in many years. We loved everything from start to finish. Our waiter Mike was excellent and it only got better from there. We really enjoyed the limoncello and Pizzelle. We thought that was nice touch. We go out to dinner with 4 other couples and I already told them that this will be our next stop.

Disappointed that my guest who is like many on a diet asked for veggie rather than rice and was told the kitchen was too busy to be asked to do substitutes. That left me very upset. The wine list could be expanded- nice ambiance but nothing other than a coupon to lure me back. My guest enjoyed her entree.

Having visited Portofino's many times over the past few years, we thoroughly enjoy dining there on a Saturday night, usually once a month. On this visit, 6/15/13, we started with the their Minnestrone soup, and as I told Evelyn, the owner, of Portofino's, it was one of the best, if not the very Best Minestrone soup, that we've ever had at any restaurant, congrats to their soup chef. Dinner was also very good, my wife had the Baked Stuffed Shrimp, which was terrific, while I had the Pescatore, again always very good. We will continued to dine at Portofino's in the future, as it's always a great place to have a very Nice Saturday night dinner. BTW, our server was Dore', very professional, pleasant, and helpful.
sat outside on the patio. table leg was VERY broken which customer determined. singer inside prevented us from wanting to sit inside. our waiter justin set the pace for an unpleasant meal. we waited 15 minutes for our bottle of wine prior to eating. we had to ask for bread, then more oil. the heated garlic provided for complementing the bread never stayed lit and we were told not to worry about it. the veal was very dry. the kitchen door was open to the patio and it showed a view of an old rusted freezer as well as certain habits of the kitchen crew.

We were given the menu and after a few minutes decided what we would like to order. After we told our server what we would like, he replied that the price of meal we ordered were $4.00 more than the price listed on the menu because they did not have the time to adjust the menu to the new prices.

Our waiter Justin welcomed us to the restaurant. While eating the host visited with us to check on things and discovered it was our first visit. We were invited to checkout the new deck for dininig outside after our dinner. The meal was delicious and portions were appropriately sized. We enjoyed a complimentary after dinner drink and a type of pastry. I believe the drink wasa home made brew. My wife and I left with a very positive impression. we look forward to returning soon.

both veal marsala and veal saltimbocca were very bland...little or no marsala in the sauce....saltimbocca tasted like it used dry sage rather than fresh...sauce was glutinous and tasted mostly of beef bulllion. Clamari appetizer was good....creme brulee dessert was excellent. Our waitress was a joy despite being a little overworked....looked like there were only two waitresses and one waiter serving a very large crowd. Maybe we just ordered the wrong thing...other diners seemed to be enjoying their meals.

We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Portofino. My wife loves the Italian Nachos and that is the reason we went. Unfortunately, they were burnt this time and had some kind of sauce on them. Waiter took them back and brought another order out and it was still burnt. My wife's Eggplant was overdone as well and the creme brule was cold. I don't know if they have new kitchen staff, but it fell short of our typical expectations. We WILL go back because we don't judge on a single visit, but we hope it is better next time. BTW, the waiter, Matt, was exceptional.

The food here is always good. A couple of things they should change,They were understaffed for the people they had on a Saturday night.2 waiters 1 bus girl.I counted 30 to 36 people at any given time. The dinning room is to small for all those people.Either enlarge or cut back on the seating.You should not have to sit closer than 4ft from patrons. I don't want to be part of someones conversation. Other than that it was a good experience. It will be a while before we go back due to those two negative encounters. Rhode Island has some of the best resturants that we can go to and not have to deal with that.
The dining room was VERy cramped, servers and other diners kept bumping into our table and chairs. Several times I spilled some of my drink on myself. The wonderful service truly offset the frustration. There is TOO MUCH "tuff" on the table. Fake flowers? NO EXCUSE, get rid of them!!!

The food was delicious. The restaurant itself is very nice and nicely decorated, but the table we were seated at just wasn't comfortable. It felt like the table we were at was just squeeze in to make room to accommodate the amount of people waiting. We had made reservations anticipating it would be crowded, which it was. We got seated quickly but our table was very tiny and it was at the edge of a wall where half of the table was sticking out into the walkway right were the coat room was. We got bumped into a few times and it was distracting and we felt we were in the way of whoever was walking by or getting their coats. Also, it was very drafty and cold. Because we had made a reservation, we would have expected a better table. We would have rather waited the extra time for a regular table rather than sit in a table that was squeezed in. It definitely took away from what I am sure would have been a very good dining experience if we were at one of the other tables. One other thing we noticed which is easy to over look unless you are sitting for a while, is we noticed the vents near the ceiling needed cleaning and right above our table there were cob webs.Other than that, the restaurant was very clean. But as I said, the food was excellent and the wait person was very nice.

The food was very good and we liked our waiter alot, but service was spotty and not sure if it was because waiter had too many tables seated at same time or if kitchen and/or bar were behind or combination of both. The bread basket was lacking in bread. We got four very tiny pieces. We got the spinach salad, which was good although it looked like it was thrown together in 30 seconds and the salad dressing was an odd consistency, almost solid which is not usual for balsamic vinaigrette. Our meals were very good, the Lobster Ravioli and the Sirloin Steak special under the Gluten-Free menu. We ordered the baileys irish cream cheesecake for dessert which was awesome as well as after dinner drinks. We thought they would be brought out together which is usual, but the drinks came to our table a solid 5 minutes or so after our dessert was served and my espressotini seemed to have more espresso than alcohol so not worth the ten dollars paid. I guess we neglected to read the fine print that added a 20% gratuity. We would not have left this amount for this particular evening. More like 18%. We were annoyed but nothing we could do at that point. The music in the lounge/bar area was not appropriate for the restaurant. A lady singing 70s and 80s music is not ideal for an Italian type restaurant. I was turned off by it as soon as we walked in the door. It was extremely loud. I was thankful to be seated in the back room. A few minor changes and this could be a really great place, but I hesitate to eat there again.

The service was excellent, Josh was our server, and he was polite, and professional, and was always right there to ask if there was anything else that we needed. Our dinners were very good, my wife has the salmon, and I had the seafood pescatore. The only minus was that usually Portofino's has excellent chicken escarole soup, but this particular night the soup had run out, very possibly because it was a very good Saturday night, 1/26/13. A nice touch was that there was a middle aged woman that was singing some soft dinner songs, accompanied by music on a CD, she did have a pleasant soft voice, just right for a nice dinner at Portofino's. The food quality was very good, the portions were decent, and the prices a couple of dollars more than comparable restaurants. Again, hats off to Josh for his excellent service, and very good dinners at Portofino's. We do dine out at least once a week, and have visited many nice restaurants throughout RI, and MA., and overall, we would give Portofino's a 4.7 star out of 5 rating
Be sure you have reservations, or you will have to wait a long time. Also, the "entertainment" is a bit distracting.

Our dining experience at Portofino was first rate. The food was expertly presented and very delicious, and the service was excellent. The atmosphere and ambiance are also mostly conducive to a fine dining experience. (The only distraction were the occasional blasts of cold outside air when the door opened... wish that they had the room for an entry foyer or airlock.) But, overall, we put Portofino on our "must return" list.

We have never had a bad experience at this restuarant before; however this time was disapointing. My steak was so tough, I could not eat it. My husband ordered scallops with his veal and they arrived after he finished his meal. Note we have been at this establishment many times. We love this place. We had a new waiter who did not seem to care. I wished we had our usual waiter. The scallop incident would never have happened and my steak would have been removed from the bill. Paying $26 for a steak that was inedible was sad.

The service was very good and the food very delicious, however, I felt that it was a bit pricey for certain entrees. I had the capellini with pesto sauce and Scallops which was $24.00. There were 2 scallops over the capellini. The sauce was bland and really had no taste. Not at all worth the price. My husband got the filet special which he said was very delicious and that also was $24.00 which was a 12 oz filet with a mushroom gravy,mashed potatoes and a vegetable. That was definitely more worth $24.00. I think $14.00 for a pasta dish with just a sauce is a bit much let alone adding $8.00 for 2 scallops. I also think that although it is a nice touch to give complimentary shots of Lemoncello, I think that you should ask first before bringing it to the table.
Only negative part was we had to wait 15 minutes for our first drink because the Owner/Bartender/Waitress was busy, should be more than one bartender.

For years my wife and i would go to portofino's to celebrate an anniversary/birthday and it was an event we looked forward to. We moved away from the area about 8 years ago and have not been back since. It is nothing like it used to be. It took nearly 2 hours to get a salad an entree. I asked for our entree to be wrapped half way through trying to eat them so it could have been longer. We were sat in the ceter between two 4 tops and behind us was another three tops. Seating was way to close. As the tables opened up a frenzied bus boy hit me twice once nearly knocking me off my chair. I called over the hostess to ask her to slow the bus boy down. A few minutes she then walked into me as she was trying to sit these tables. The waiter made two mistakes with our order (nice guy though). My salmon was way overcooked, it was drier than a piece of tuna, hard to do that. We did notice the owner (so she said) who only interest was telling a group of customers how she was worried about her daughter on her first date.

I pointed this out to the waiter, he did modify bill but we had to wait for another 15 min.

Our server was awesome ..she answered all my questions and even knew what I was going to ask before I said it... The food was fantastic especially the dessert apple crime brûlée -yum!

I had the filet mignon and the chef cooked it a perfect medium with the papa sauce, it was delicious. My son loves the gnocchi dish when he comes.
Only thing I did not like was the busboy brought us water and put his hands over the rim of the glasses where our lips would be touching it.

Our waiter, Josh was fabulous!! My boyfriend could have eaten more. He felt the portion sizes for the price that we paid was very small. We understand that we were paying for the atmosphere and the food was good, not great. Thank goodness our waiter was so great because that made up for the rest.
The veal dish my husband ordered was not very good.......very tough. The side order of roasted potatoes (which the waiter forgot to bring at first) were very greasy.

The food was very good but we waited about90 minutes for our entree once it was ordered. The waiter kept apologizing for the backup in the kitchen and the restaurant was not very crowded.I would not want to go back again because of the terrible wait.
Well worth the visit. The food is always consistent and great value for your money.

The food is always excellent. The lounge area can be a bit noisy to dine in when there is music but the dining room is always a quieter option.

The vegetable portions included with the veal chop were quite tiny. I liked the menu and portions better before you revised your menu.

Was put in an uncomfortable corner with my chair up against the chair of the person behind me. Waiter had too many tables and so services was slow. Food was OK, but I need to be comfortable in a restaurant.

The main coarse was wonderful, but the pizza was cold when we received it. We didn't send it back because the girl with us was her birthday and we were on our way to take her to her party.

Food and ambiance is very nice, howerver my wife did find a piece of plastic in her salad. It was taken off the bill, but the owner Liz, never came over to offer appologies.
With a "new" al a carte meneu we found it expensive for the venue...........This was the second time in last 2 months(1st with new menu) we tried with both times less then pleased....With so many restaurants with same style food in area, it would be hard too go back. Fool me once , fool me twice there won't be a third.

Waitress was barely adequate. food was cold and came out at different times. I had to wait five mins longer than my party to eat because my food was delayed. will NOT go back
Very nice atmosphere. Not crazy about sauce. Ordered penne with entree to try it and didn't care for it. Therefore, would not order anything italian with sauce.
THe tables for 2 are very small. Other than that, it was good.

We asked for some bread and were told that they had none left but they were still serving it to other tables.
I had taken my nephew our for his 18th birthday and we were both pleased with the service and the excellant food. My nephew really enjoyed the garlic and the bread as he had not experienced this before. I would certainly recommend your restaurant highly.
